Authors who publish with the PHAROS JOURNAL OF THEOLOGY come to an understanding with the following aspects:
The author/s retains copyright and gives the journal the right of first publication with the work concurrently licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work and acknowledge of the work's authorship and primary publication in PHAROS.
Authors are free to enter into separate, supplementary contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive circulation of the PHAROS published version of the work such as posting it to an institutional repository or publish it or part thereof in a book. However, there must be an acknowledgement of the initial publication in PHAROS.
After the submission process, authors are allowed to post their work online in institutional repositories or on their personal website/s.

These rights include but are not limited to the right to publish the article in the Pharos Journal of Theology, the right to grant photocopying permission to those requesting such permission for educational and other purposes, and the right to reprint the article separately or as part of a collection of related works. 1. include a standard copyright line: copyright date, publisher's name, city, state, journal and article title, issue, and page number (s)
2. not charge any viewer for viewing the article if it is reprinted electronically.
The writer must warrant that the manuscript submitted is his/her own work, and that the work is not under consideration for publication elsewhere and has not already been published elsewhere. Furthermore, the writer warrants that the submitted article contains no libelous or unlawful statements and does not infringe on the civil rights of any other people or organizations, and that the writer is not infringing on anyone else's copyright by submitting the article to the Pharos Journal of Theology.
The writer agrees to indemnify and will hold the Publisher, the Editorial Board of the Pharos Journal of Theology (as a group and individual members thereof), Editor(s), and manuscript reviewers, and their respective officers, Board members and employees harmless against costs and expenses of any suit, claim, demand, or recovery based on any claim of libel, unlawfulness, or infringement of copyright or any other personal or property right upon publication of the manuscript.
